How It Started

Fido Fixers was developed in 2012 by Lisa Wysocki and Suzanne Steinberg after they became increasingly frustrated with the seemingly never-ending supply of unwanted pets in high-kill shelters, especially in the Southeastern part of the United States. Lisa and Suzanne were convinced that the most important action they could take to end the loss of life was to begin a spay and neuter program in the communities with the worst dog and cat overpopulation problems. Lisa and Suzanne became convinced that the most important action they could take to try to end this senseless abuse and loss of life and was to begin a spay and neuter program in the communities with the worst dog and cat overpopulation problems.

How It’s Going

In 2024, after 12 years of dedicated work and 150,000 surgeries, Fido Fixers’ founder and director, Lisa Wysocki, made the hard but important decision to retire and selected Providence Animal Center (PAC) to take over the Fido Fixers program.
